Salmon Fillet with Maple Butter

Baking salmon fillets with a luscious maple butter glaze elevates this dish to a whole new level of deliciousness. The natural sweetness of the maple syrup melds perfectly with the rich, buttery flavour, creating a mouthwatering coating that caramelizes beautifully as it bakes. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 salmon fillets ( Tasmanian Salmon  - Ora King Salmon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

RECIPE

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Season both sides of the salmon fillets with salt and pepper. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each fillet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, minced garlic, and chopped thyme (if using). Mix until well combined. – Or the Costi’s Maple Butter sauce
  4. Spoon the maple butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, spreading it out with the back of the spoon.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork and is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the salmon fillets hot, garnished with lemon wedges and chopped fresh parsley if desired. Enjoy!
